STANDARDS & EXPECTATIONS OF SERVING AT GATEWAY
Purpose: Serving at Gateway is a meaningful opportunity to honor God, love people, and help build His Church. This document outlines the baseline expectations for anyone serving in any area of ministry at Gateway Christian Fellowship. These expectations apply to all volunteers, regardless of ministry assignment. Before stepping into a serving role, we ask volunteers to regularly attend services for 3–6 months. This helps create space to grow in connection, become familiar with the life of the church, and discern readiness to serve with joy and confidence.

Core Commitments
Please read the follow & sign below
1. CHRIST-CENTERED LIVING
Those who serve at Gateway are encouraged to pursue a growing relationship with Jesus Christ through prayer, Scripture, worship, and obedience. Our service is not meant to flow out of pressure or obligation, but out of a sincere love for Christ and a desire to reflect Him to others.
2. AGREEMENT WITH GATEWAY'S STATEMENT OF FAITH
All volunteers are asked to read, understand, and affirm Gateway’s Statement of Faith. We welcome honest questions and conversation, while also recognizing that serving in leadership roles requires unity with the doctrinal beliefs of the church.
3. FAITHFUL PARTICIPATION IN CHURCH LIFE
Serving at Gateway assumes regular participation in weekend services and meaningful engagement in the life of the church. Volunteers help set the tone by modeling commitment, consistency, and spiritual maturity as part of the body of Christ.
4. GODLY CHARACTER & INTEGRITY
Those who serve are expected to live in a way that reflects Christ in both public and private life. This includes:
- Honoring biblical standards for relationships and sexual integrity.
- Avoiding gossip, divisive speech, and inappropriate behavior.
- Demonstrating humility, teachability, and respect for leadership.
- Making lifestyle choices that honor God and provide a healthy biblical example for others.
When challenges or struggles arise, Gateway desires to respond with grace, truth, restoration, and growth. We encourage honest conversation with ministry leaders or pastoral staff so that support and care can be offered well.

This includes following Gateway’s safety policies, accountability practices, and ministry-specific guidelines, so that every person in our care is served wisely and well.
6. RELIABILITY & COMMUNICATION
Serving is an important commitment, and we ask volunteers to approach it with faithfulness and care. Volunteers are expected to:
- Arrive prepared & on time.
- Communicate promptly if unable to serve.

7. SUBMISSION TO LEADERSHIP
Gateway functions through delegated leadership, and volunteers are asked to serve under the direction of ministry leaders. This includes receiving feedback with humility, remaining teachable, and supporting the vision and culture of the church in a spirit of unity.
8. UNITY & HONOR
Volunteers commit to protecting the unity of the body of Christ by addressing concerns in a biblical way and by honoring fellow servants, leaders, and staff in both word and action. We want the way we serve together to reflect the love, humility, and grace of Jesus.
